Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an exciting potential opportunity for a civilian Occupational Therapist at Eglin Air Force Base located at Fort Walton Beach, FL.
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree/Education: Master's degree in Occupational therapy. Must have Graduated from a program in occupational therapy accredited at the time of graduation by the Accreditation Council for occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or predecessor organization, to include an internship prescribed by the education institution.
- Certification: Certified in occupational therapy through the National Board for Certification Therapy (NBCOT)
- Experience: 2 years of experience in the area of inpatient and/or outpatient hand therapy and physical disabilities within the past 3 years.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice occupational therapy.
- BLS through American Heart Association
Duties not limited to:
- Evaluate and treat deficits in occupational performance components that include motor, neuro-musculoskeletal, cognitive, social, and psychological dysfunction. Treatment includes individual and group-based purposeful activity, exercise, physical agent modalities, fabrication and training in the use of temporary functional orthotics, splints and adaptive devices, counseling, and education
- Perform a full range of occupational therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF for both inpatient and outpatient services.
- Administer treatments involving application of physical agents, using equipment such as ultrasound, whirlpool bath, moist packs, cold packs, iontophoresis, TENS. Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
- Coordinate treatment with physician and other staff members to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate occupational therapy treatment with other aspects of the patient's health care. Contact referring physicians regarding patient care concerns, as required
